By Jennifer Anthony

What follows are some resume objective blunders that should be avoided at all costs. These are actual objective statements found posted online.

Happy reading!

"To work at home without investing any money been screwed already. willing to do online surveys, anything involving working at home."

Why yes, we’d love to hire you…for just $9.95…

"I would like to earn some extra cash at home. I have been a stay at home mom for 7 years now, and babysitting is getting tiresome, I would like to do something new."

I’d be tired too…

"Ambitious, high-energy, focused mother of five desires to obtain a position with a reputable company that will facilitate the continuity of career enhancement by employing home workers."

You must be ambitious to take on a job AND five kids…

"I need to find a legitimate work at home job that i can mantain while going to college and staying at home to watch my son. Income is no problem as long as there is income to it."

"Mantain"…is that like man entertaining?

"WORK FROM HOME FOR A FAST GORWING COPANY"

I have no idea what a "gorwing copany" is…

"I want to be more useful everyday."

Great! You can start by making my pot pie…

"telecommuting position"

Could you elaborate?

"Seeking fulfilling, challenging work that while living in the beauty of Montana."

Whoa! Hippie alert!

"To find a position in Customer Service or Data Entry that will allow me to stay at home for my children yet financially contribute to their well being."

A case of too much information…

"I am looking for an at home career where I can utilize my skills, and still be a doting mother"

Who says "doting"? Why not just say "loving"?

"I am a mom of a 7 month old and I would love to be able to spend time with him. I would like to eventually quit my fulltime job and be successful working from home."

If you are spending time with him, how will you be working?

"To obtain a position in a work place where I can apply the skills and abilities that are known to me, in order to achieve personal goals as well as professional goals for the company that choose to employ me."

Do share the skills and abilities that are known to only you…

"I am interested in finding a wah job. I am also willing to leave the house a few days out the week, but preferably to stay at home full time if possible."

What is a "wah" job? Is that like crying? Oh…you mean work at home…

"To find a telecommuting position using my Cable Modem internet connection"

ummm…

"EXPLORING NEW GROUND AND ACHIEVING POSITIVE RESULT THAT WILL ACTUALISE THE APEX DREAM OF ANY ORGANIZATION I AM GIVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO RENDER MY SERVIVE"

Huh? Is that English?

"I AM LOOKING FOR A JOB FROM HOME PLEASE TRY TO SEND IT IF THERE ARE SUITABLE JOBS FOR ME AND I HAVE PASSED TYPEWRINTING ENGLISH HIGHER."

You passed "typewrinting" English huh?

"Anywhere if work at home"

That rules out “anywhere” doesn’t it?
